About the company
Our client is an established, multi-site engineering and manufacturing company that designs and builds custom products for customers in industrial, medical, and aerospace and defense markets. They work alongside their customers from early concept through full-rate production, pairing in-house design engineering with their own manufacturing floors, including injection molding in both cleanroom and traditional environments. The company is growing its plastics business and building one shared way of working across its sites.
About the role
This is a dedicated plastics seat. You sell one thing, end-to-end plastic injection molding, and you are the bridge between a customer's manufacturing challenge and the company's engineering and production capability. You will find and win high-value opportunities, carry a revenue target, and report to the senior sales leader.
Responsibilities
· Drive new business and build high-potential customer partnerships and accounts.
· Sell end-to-end plastic injection molding, in both cleanroom and traditional environments.
· Own a revenue target and the key performance indicators behind it.
· Protect profit by managing pricing and avoiding margin drains such as excess inventory and high shipping costs.
· Lead complex technical proposals and quotes, and make the case for scalability from low-volume to high-volume production.
· Build relationships wide and deep across procurement, engineering, and executive management in strategic accounts.
· Negotiate large contracts that protect margins and build long-term customer loyalty.
· Work with engineering, operations, and supply chain to define and deliver integrated, custom-engineered manufacturing solutions.
· Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and key customer meetings.
Must-have qualifications
· 10+ years of sales experience in complex solution selling, contract manufacturing, or sophisticated supply chain solutions.
· Knowledge of or experience in plastic injection molding, tooling development, and resin selection.
· A personal portfolio of contacts and relationships that supports achieving business development goals.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
· Ability to work with customers and principals across procurement, management, and engineering levels.
· Initiative, drive, and poise, with maturity, flexibility, and patience.
· Ability to travel at least 2 weeks a month to customer sites and trade shows. Overnights are not required when customers are within your region, typically within a 100-mile radius.
What we offer
· A dedicated plastics sales seat in a business that designs and makes the product, so you sell what your own engineers and production floors deliver.
· Base salary plus tiered commission on new business, paid as a percentage of top-line revenue (shipments).
· A comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, and vision, company-paid life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, and an employee assistance program.
· Paid sick leave, vacation, and company-paid holidays.
· A 401(k) with a company contribution.
It's ok if you don't check all the boxes. We hire for the capacity and the drive to learn and grow. If there is something you haven't done, but you are capable, please apply!
